Ballet
Ballet is the basis of all dance forms. We strongly encourage that ballet be taken in conjunction with any other dance class. Beginning ballet will focus on the basics of ballet, including terminology and placement. Intermediate levels will place emphasis on understanding the technique as well as posture and body positions. Advanced levels will be a continual study of fundamentals, including precision, technique and emotional expression.
Pointe
The most advanced level of ballet. Students must be enrolled in at least one other ballet class per week. This class requires instructor’s approval and a doctor’s note.
Progressing Ballet Technique
Progressing Ballet Technique is a program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon to help students advance in all dance forms by training muscle memory. PBT focuses on core stability, weight placement and alignment. PBT is practiced internationally.
Hip Hop
Choreography will be similar to that seen in music videos. Moves are jazz based with a mixture of pop and lock techniques and street funk.
Jazz
Classes will focus on turns, leaps, increased flexibility and strength and the development of style. All classes will have a strong emphasis on correct technique while allowing students to use their own styles.
Tap
Beginning level classes will focus on learning basic rhythm patterns including shuffles, flaps, stomps, and ball changes. Advanced level will include complex combinations focusing on speed, clarity, and intricate footwork.
Lyrical
Lyrical combines jazz and ballet movements to music while telling a story and focusing on emotion.
TSD Combination Classes
Combo classes will consist of ballet, tap, and jazz. Classes offer choreography focusing on large and fine motor skills. Children get to interact with others their own age while learning the basics of dance.
Pom
Pom classes focus on jumps, leaps, kicks and skills needed to prepare students for junior high and high school teams. We offer recreational and competitive poms. The competitive team will compete at local competitions.
Competitive Company/Poms
Competitive classes give students more performance opportunities throughout the year. Students will be invited to attend conventions and competitions. If you are interested in being a part of the company please indicate that on the registration form.
